Let’s face it, Christmas is the time for parties. End of year school get together’s, work Christmas functions, family gatherings. It’s just party, party, party!

This may have you squealing with delight, or shaking in terror. A lot of social planning can get overwhelming at times, but it is also a great time to have some simple family fun.

That’s what these ideas are all about.

Simple family fun that the kids (and you) are going to absolutely love. Whether you plan a small kids Christmas party with just your own kids, or you invite some friends over, the main thing is that everyone enjoys themselves, stress free!

So take a deep breath, because you have got this. It’s totally easier than you might think it’s going to be.

Set Up A Christmas Tablescape

If you would like to have the kids sit down for a lunch or morning tea, it would be nice to have a Christmas tablescape set up for them.

This is actually super simple to achieve and shouldn’t leave you running for the hills!

With just a few dollar store items, you can put together a tablescape that is fun for the kids, and super easy for you to achieve.

Finish off the tablescape by giving all the kids their own water bottle which has a Christmas water bottle label attached. Kids love these simple but easy ideas.

Involve The Kids With Christmas Cookie Decorating

Regardless of whether the kids are 2 or 12, they will absolutely LOVE the chance to do some cookie decorating.

They could make the cookies to eat at the party, to take home with them or both! Let’s face it, it wouldn’t be a kids Christmas party without one or two cookies lurking around would it!

The kids could have some fun making reindeer cookies, some melted snowman cookies or perhaps some mini chocolate pudding cookies.

It is easy to have some store bought cookies to hand for some instant cookie decorating fun.

Delicious Christmas Treats To Eat

You might also like to have some treats ready to go for the party. Whilst you can make some that are Christmas themed, you really don’t need to stress about making everything look like it has come out of Santa’s grotto!

Try some easy finger food recipes that the kids will be guaranteed to love.

Of course there is nothing wrong with having some Christmas desserts on hand, but you don’t need to beat yourself up if you don’t have time to make them.

Have Fun With Christmas Crafts

There is no better time to undertake some Christmas crafts than at a kids Christmas party. Simply gather all the supplies that you need together and the kids will have a ball.

If you are having a gathering with younger kids like at a mom’s group morning, then individual mom’s can easily help their own little one’s, so you don’t need to feel like you are a craft teacher.

You could have the kids making some easy Christmas tree decorations, Christmas ornaments or some Christmas crafts that can be used to decorate the home.

The kids could even put together some handmade Christmas gifts which would make gift shopping a lot easier.

Undertake Some Christmas Activities

There are lots of kids party games that can be played at a kids Christmas party, and they don’t all need to be Christmas themed.

Sometimes the simple games like pass the parcel and musical statues, kids love the best!

However, it is also super easy to incorporate some Christmas themed activities too.

Print off some Christmas word search games or Santa coloring sheets. They will keep the kids occupied, whilst also offering a bit of quiet time for the adults.

Prepare for Christmas Eve

This would be a great time to start getting prepared for Christmas eve, by baking Santa some shortbread snowflake cookies.

It is also a great time to organize the magic reindeer food that will be left out on Christmas eve. There is a free printable to download which will be even more exciting for the kids to take home if you wanted to turn this into a party favor.

There are so many things to do on Christmas eve that you can start planning for right now.

If you would like to send the kids home from the party with a favor item, you can easily incorporate this into the activities held.

Get the kids to make up a memory jar which the whole family can use during the next year. Or perhaps get the kids to measure out a cookie mix to create a cookies in a jar gift. The kids can then have more fun at home baking the cookies.

Alternatively you could just make up some candy bars with some adorable Christmas wrappers around them which you can hand to the kids as they leave the party.

Planning a great kids Christmas party really doesn’t have to be stressful or take up a huge amount of time. Plan to have a few of these activities organised and your good to go.

It doesn’t even matter if you don’t get around to doing everything you had planned. Take the lead from the kids as to how long they want to spend on an activity and if you have things left over you can do it with them at another time.
