There are two ways that you can tackle a birthday party for kids at Christmas.
The first is to steer completely away from the festive season and create a birthday party like you would at any other time of the year.
The second is to create a super special festive birthday party.
The festive birthday party is the category that the following ideas all fall into. These Christmas birthday party ideas all follow a festive theme, but will still make your child feel like a million dollars.
If you are keen to embrace the festive season into your party planning, then these Christmas birthday party ideas will be perfect for you.
Christmas Birthday Party Ideas That Involve Baking
Baking birthday parties are always a hit with the kids, so simply change up the theme slightly to give it a festive feel.
These following Christmas baking birthday party ideas will be a real hit.

There is nothing that says Christmas quite like the smell of gingerbread.
If this is a favorite of your child, you might like to consider holding a gingerbread making party.
This can be undertaken in two ways:
- Purchase some gingerbread kits. (Think gingerbread houses or trains). The kids can enjoy assembling and then decorating their kits, then take them home afterwards.
- Let the kids bake their own gingerbread into either houses or simply just as different shaped cookies. The kids can then enjoy decorating and eating their cookies taking home anything that is left.
2. Cookie Decorating Party
Love the idea of the baking party, but not keen on gingerbread?
Change it up to be a cookie decorating party.
Let the kids bake and decorate their cookies, ensuring you have lots of Christmas cookie cutters and toppings to choose from.

3. Cupcake Decorating Party
A cupcake decorating party is also a super popular birthday party theme.
