A Spiderman party is always a popular party choice for young boys. It’s also a fantastic theme to decorate for as the colors are bold and punchy.
My son requested a Spiderman birthday party for his 5th birthday and I instantly knew that it was going to be a lot of fun.
There are so many fun things that you can do with this theme and we certainly didn’t hold back.
Where possible I always like to provide some food that carries the theme, and Spiderman is so easy to do.
One option to make the Spiderman cookies would have been to create a Spiderman head. However I had already decided to create Spiderman head cupcake toppers and I wanted something to contrast those not directly compete.
The idea of using the spider web on the cookies was perfect.
They still look 100% Spiderman, but they have their own uniqueness about them and are just as much fun as using Spiderman’s head.
Another great thing about using this idea is that a spider web pattern is a lot easier to create than a Spiderman head meaning literally ANYONE can make these!
I also knew that I would be having a lot of plastic spiders scattered around the party area and decided to use these on the cookies too. I tested them sitting on the web and also just sitting on the red base, and this is how they really looked the most effective.
What was even easier was that this meant half of the cookies only needed half the decoration. Score!
Sounds exciting? It definitely is.
The kids will love the fun web design, and combine that design with some plastic spiders and you will be sure to get a big thumbs up from the kids.

Easy Spider Web Cookies
These cookies are perfect for absolutely any beginner to make. They are quick, simple and relatively fuss free.
Follow the next 5 simple steps to create the easiest Spiderman cookies.
Step 1: Bake The Sugar Cookies
Bake the sugar cookies and shape using a round cookie cutter.
Leave to cool before decorating. If you don’t wish to bake the cookies yourself, this would work just as well with any store bought round cookie.
I will share the recipe I used to make these Spiderman cookies at the end of the post.
Step 2: Add The Red Base
Start the decorating by adding the red base using cookie icing.
Draw an outline of the base first and then flood the middle of the cookie with red icing.
Step 3: Add The Black Webbing
Using a black edible gel pen, start drawing the webbing on the top of the red base.
Start by drawing a cross.
Turn the cookie and draw another cross to create 8 different segments.
To finish the webbing effect start creating curved lines that connect the straight lines.
Create the outer curved lines first and join all of the straight lines together.
Move further into the middle of the cookie and repeat the process of joining the straight lines together with curved lines.
Step 4: Leave To Dry
Once you have completed all the spider cookies, ensure that you leave them to dry. You want to make sure that the web lines have completely dried before stacking them.
It doesn’t matter if the spider web lines are a little uneven. This just makes it look even more realistic.
The end result of the black spider webs over the top of the red base looks sensational.
Step 5: Display The Spiderman Cookies
To make life even easier, leave some of the cookies without a webbing on top. These cookies look great with a black plastic spider sitting on the top.
When you serve the cookies, be sure to mix up the cookies that have the web and those that don’t for maximum effect.
It’s simple, it’s effective and the kids totally love them.
