The tuna salad that I just ate was perfectly seasoned with pepper and lemon juice. Many years ago I wasn’t convinced into lemon and fish flavor.
However, lately I’ve noticed that I prefer the tangy lemony fish rather that plain.
The healthy tuna salad is so easy to make and requires only couple ingredients that you probably already have in your house.
Fresh lemon, pepper, tuna, mayonnaise, salt, pepper and handful of lettuce leafs or spring mix. It is very simple and so good.
It doesn’t require any special skills; only mixing some ingredients and lunch is served.
Recently, I’ve decided to eat less caloric dishes to lose weight and I had to move my imagination to make delicious new recipes. The food doesn’t have to be boring.
There are plenty healthy ingredients that we can use. I think that balance of fats, proteins and carbohydrates are very important during diet.
My healthy tuna salad is very popular in my house. My mother made me similar salad couple months ago and I loved it.
I’ve decided to experiment a little and add different ingredients to my tuna.
Today was easy lemony tuna salad but next time I can think about adding onions that will go perfectly.
I actually made a tuna salad with onions before and I really loved it. There are many great ingredients that we can add to this salad.
Healthy Tuna Salad
A light a refreshing tuna salad which will make your taste buds dance in all the right ways!
Ingredients
- 1 small can (170 g) solid tuna
- 1 tsp. lemon juice
- 2 Tbsp. mayonnaise
- salt/pepper to taste
- 1 1/2 cups chopped lettuce leafs
Instructions
- Drain water from tuna.
- In a medium bowl mix tuna with lemon juice, mayonnaise, salt and pepper.
- Add chopped lettuce leafs and mix all ingredients together.

I eat tuna and chicken salad often. I put a dash of dry mustard in mine. It really enhances the flavor.

I love tuna salad on greens too! I haven’t added the lemon juice, that I will have to try 🙂 Also I have added in fresh celery (cut up in small pieces) or celery salt, and parsley flakes! I do enjoy having healthy meals! Thanks for sharing your recipe 🙂
