Yes I know Christmas has only just passed and now we are already talking about Valentine’s Day. That’s just how it goes though isn’t it.

Maybe that’s why the year rolls by so quickly. It feels like as soon as one event has finished the new one is just about to start.

But roll with the punches we must.

Otherwise all that will happen is we end up in a mad panic feeling totally unprepared for the occasion.

Valentine’s day can easily be one of those occasions that creeps up on you out of no-where, and leave you frantically looking for a gift.

It seems there is a lot of hype on the lead up to Valentine’s day for showering the one you love with the perfect gift. It’s almost like the bigger the gift you receive the more you are loved. Call me crazy, but am I the only one that feels this?

I think that Valentine’s gifts can be broken into two categories. These are;

1. The all expensive gift including theatre tickets, flash jewellery, nights away in hotels etc
2. The small token of appreciation and love with a small but fun gift, such as using a Valentine nuts about you printable.

My husband and I always opt for number 2!

Yes, I absolutely don’t deny that number 1 would be lovely. 

I would be more than happy to receive a lavish gift, and I certainly wouldn’t refuse it. However, with so many other things happening throughout the year, we don’t want to justify the expense of a gift “just because”.

We certainly don’t ignore the day either.

We we always like to plan a bit of a special dinner in the evening when the kids have gone to bed. 

But as far as gift giving is concerned, we make sure that this gift is a simple small little token of love.

In the past for Valentine’s day, my husband has received several printable gifts. 

He has received a pack of beer with printable labels. Then there was the year that he received the wine, also with a Valentine printable attached.

Despite these being relatively cheap gifts, he absolutely loved them.

The addition of the Valentine printable made all the difference.

Last year I stayed with the printable theme (he is kind of getting used to it now) and I gave him a bag of nuts. 

Yes of course this included a cute nuts about you printable attached.

This gift certainly didn’t break the bank, but it was absolutely enjoyed when snuggling on the couch after dinner. 

And of course he showed his appreciation of love to me by sharing the chocolate covered ones with me. My favorite!

I gave the gift of just the bag of nuts, but if you wanted to bulk it out a bit, then it would look fantastic in a hamper basket with maybe the beer and wine included.

But otherwise, even as a stand alone gift, it is a pretty good one. 

Hubby certainly enjoyed it.

1. The first thing you need to do is head to the free printable library and download the “Nuts About You” printable. 

You will find it located under the Valentine’s Printable’s heading.

2. I recommend printing onto a matte photo paper as it provides a nice quality finish.

3. Purchase a bag of nuts, and then attach the nuts about you printable with double sided sticky tape.

That’s it, your done!

It’s a super simple, low budget and stress free Valentine’s gift.
