Sometimes I hate the kitchen. Ever feel like that?!
It is not the cooking (clearly) I love that, it is the cleaning.
Dishes seem to magically multiply. Between dinner last night and then getting home from work, apparently the fairies turned up and trashed the kitchen during the day. Eh.
Tonight, I raced the sunset home so I could take these photos, cooked dinner, made lunch for tomorrow, make and eat dinner and then started the nightly clean up.
Half way through, I sliced my finger open, opps.
But you know what?
At least it meant I didn’t have to finish the dishes. (EDIT: actually I did, they weren’t done STILL when I got home from work the next day- sound familiar?)
Okay, whinge over and back to business.
St Patrick’s day. Do you celebrate?
I have to admit that I don’t, the last time I did I was in my early 20’s and I had just moved to the big city. Needless to say, it was a huge event and it wasn’t only the decorations that were a little green!
But, for the first time in a years I am starting to get back in the mood (thanks fellow bloggers).
OMG, St. Pat’s day + Pinterest = hours of cute leprechauns, colorful rainbows, green food that actually looks appetizing and so many shade from the Emerald Isle.
This is my first sweet dish of celebration- trading the alcohol for the sweets this year and this one is AWESOME.
I took this slice for a morning tea and with no word of a lie, I was asked 5 or 6 times down the corridor ‘what was in that?
It was awesome.
They loved it even more when I told them it was super easy and only 5 ingredients!
Here is a St Patrick’s present from me to you. An easy peppermint slice recipe that is the present that keeps on giving.
It is sweet, easy, quick and a tasty dessert that you can enjoy any day of the year.
