Well hello there!! So glad you stopped by!
Today we are talking invitations! More specifically we’ll be focusing on the importance of invitations.
You DID know invitations are important, right? Of course you did!
What Are The Elements Of An Invitation?
Invitations set the stage for an event and unless you plan to throw a mediocre party, you shouldn’t plan on sending mediocre invitations. They should be one-of-a-kind, wow-your-guests worthy and designed specifically for your fantastic party.
Invitations are your party’s introduction. They declare the event’s theme, colors, and fun factor. See, I told you… IMPORTANT!
Besides being incredible, your invitations should include specific elements, for example:
What type of party: A Circus Celebration
For whom: Little Lucy
When: Saturday June 15th
Where: Under The Big Top Circus Tent (with address)
Why: Lucy’s 10th Birthday
RSVP: 555-848-7734 or LucysMom@email.com by June 1st.
There is also additional information you may need to add, depending on the type of event.
If the invitation is for a bridal shower, include the registry information. You may want to include directions, or specified party attire. Think about all the information your guests will need and make sure it is stated in the invitation.
Try to think about the theme of your party and create an invitation to go with it. Having a Painting Party? Send paint swatch invitations.
A Storybook baby shower, maybe? Send an invitation that looks like a book.
Get those wheels turning and think of something clever. It doesn’t need to be expensive. In fact, you may be able to make something fabulous for half the price of those overused Party Store invitations. You know what I’m talking about.
If you are having a difficult time coming up with an invitation idea, head on over to Google or Pinterest. The best of us use sites like these for inspiration. There’s no shame in it.
Find something creative in your budget and recreate it. If you aren’t crafty, don’t fret, get the invitations custom made.
You have unlimited options and there is something perfect out there for you. So find it, send it, and wait for the awesome feedback. It IS coming… along with all the confirmations! Because once your guests receive that knock-your-socks-off invitation, they’ll want to attend your party! They’ll know it’s one they can’t miss!!
For some invitation inspiration, here are some invitations that I have sent. You’ll see, they aren’t your outta-the-box invites. Each were thought out, planned carefully and very well received by the guests. Check ‘em out…
Film Canister Invitation
My girls and I found this invitation idea online and just ran with it. We recreated it to make it our own and boy was it worth it. They were a HUGE hit and are still being talked about today!
The invitation was sent out for a PICTURE PERFECT BRIDAL SHOWER…
Western Invitation
When thinking of an invitation to fit a western theme we wanted something rustic yet interesting. We used a western font, rustic-y fabric and threw in a kid’s sheriff badge for some flair!
This invitation was created for a COWGIRL BACHELORETTE PARTY…
Tied-the-Knot Invitation
Talk about a WOW-worthy invitation. This one was a show stopper. Slightly interactive and totally awesome! My girlfriend got married in Ireland and wanted to celebrate a few months later with those who were unable to make the trip.
This invitation was designed for her St. Patrick’s Day Reception.
Breakfast at Tiffany’s Invitation
This is the invitation was one of my favorites. I Googled some ideas and came up with this beauty. It’s pretty fabulous, right?
This invitation was sent for a BREAKFAST AT TIFFANY’S BRIDAL SHOWER
See how each invitation set the stage for each party? The only down side to sending jaw-dropping invites is that you are guaranteed to be blasted with serious praise.
Be ready to hear how awesome you are, over and over again! But don’t worry, it NEVER gets old!

I love the film reel invitation, looks great. Great photos by the way, invitations are part of the fun of a party, not enough creativity goes into them.
We did a surprise ‘Alice In Wonderland’ party for my daughters 18th, also called Alice. We made the invitations on card and we made a load of ‘Mad Hatter Hats, then place the invite into the band around the hats like in the film. They looked great and they created an excitement for the party.

Your absolutely right Andi. The invitation is when people get to feel the vibe for the party and like everything, first impressions are so important! Your Alice invitations/party sound awesome – very creative! I’d love to see a picture (or two) if you would like to share 🙂
