One of my all time favorite Italian dishes is Chicken Parmesan.
When I finally learned how to make this at home, I was so proud to serve such an awesome, classic dish, that is oh, so easy to make!
The best thing about this dish is that, in addition to tasting amazing, it is budget friendly and so quick to make that you can feed it to a crowd in less than an hour!
I have to make a quick confession, because I know you will be wondering when you get to the ingredient list.
There is actually no Parmesan cheese in this dish!
I don’t use Parmesan in order to save time, and money.
By all means, if you need to have the Parmesan, then add it to the bread crumb mixture and on top of the chicken before it bakes.
I love serving this super easy Chicken Parmesan on top of garlic noodles which are also also very simple to make.
I make garlic oil by sautéing a good bit of olive oil with butter and minced garlic. The sauce comes out so perfectly and coats the noodles with a delightful garlic flavor.
A simple side to accompany this yummy dish!

Oh, So Easy Chicken Parmesan
Ingredients
- Chicken Parmesan:
- 1 lb Chicken Breast
- 1 cup Italian Breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup Olive Oil
- 24 oz Spaghetti Sauce (I like Tomato Basil flavor)
- 8 oz Mozzarella Cheese, shredded
- Garlic Noodles:
- 16 oz. Linguine, cooked
- 1/4 cup Olive Oil
- 2 T butter
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp salt
Instructions
- Chicken Parmesan:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Heat a large skillet to medium heat and cover the bottom with olive oil.
- Make thin cutlets out of the chicken breast by slicing them into thirds.
- Spread the breadcrumbs out onto a large plate, coat each chicken cutlet with breadcrumbs on each side, then place into hot oil in the skillet.
- Allow the cutlet to cook long enough to brown, then flip over and allow to brown on the other side (total cook time in skillet is about 5 minutes per cutlet).
- Remove cutlet from the skillet and place on baking sheet or oven safe dish.
- You can place about 3-4 cutlets in the skillet at a time, and repeat this process until all cutlets are cooked.
- Once all cutlets are on the baking sheet, cover each with the tomato sauce. You will likely have extra sauce just pour it all onto the dish so it can heat through in the oven.
- Top with the shredded cheese.
- Bake in the oven about 20 minutes until cooked through.
- Serve over garlic noodles.
- Garlic Noodles:
- Cook noodles according to package directions, drain and set aside.
- Make garlic oil by heating a medium skillet over medium-low heat, adding olive oil, butter, garlic and salt.
- Stir occasionally, and cook until garlic is fragrant. (about 5 minutes)
- In a large bowl, place noodles, then cover with garlic oil. Toss well to make sure all noodles are coated with garlic oil.
