Holding a party at a venue can make life easier for lots of reasons, and the good thing is that there are A LOT of indoor venues that also make a great location for a birthday party.
There are specific kids birthday party venues that offer birthday party packages, but it is also possible to incorporate lots of other venues into party locations.
Some of the benefits for holding a birthday party at a venue include:
- Preparation at home for cleaning the house etc doesn’t need to occur.
- All the mess is left behind at the venue!
- Catering is easy as most places self cater. All you need to coordinate is the birthday cake and some of your own snacks such as lollies and chips.
- Venues can offer a private party room, which can help make the birthday feel a little bit extra special.
With so many different types of indoor venues there is sure to be something that will excite kids of all ages and their friends.
Tips For Planning Your Child’s Indoor Birthday Party Venue
Ask The Venue Lots Of Questions: Make sure you know exactly what you are getting before you agree to holding a party. Questions to ask include:
- What happens with payment. Do you pay before the party starts or when it is finished.
- Is there are a minimum number of children required for the party. What happens if one child is sick on the day and you have a child less than you notified.
- Are you allowed to bring your own food. What about the birthday cake?
- Will you have access to a private room?
Arrive Earlier Than The Invited Guests: Think about what you want to do before your guests arrive and allow enough time to get it done. Is it simply a case of putting some balloons on a table, or would you like to color theme the table with tablecloth’s, plates, cups etc.
Ascertain Food Allergies: Ensure you know of any food allergies with the children, and inform the venue of any requirements prior to the party day.
Once you have narrowed down the venue options, you can decide whether you want to choose one of the birthday packages on offer or whether you would like to coordinate the party yourself.
There is no right or wrong way to go, it really depends on personal preference and how much party planning your wish to undertake.
Creative Indoor Kids Party Venues
Children’s Art Classes – Creative kids will love to attend an art or painting class.
Pottery – For something hands on and a bit messy, why not try a pottery class. The children can all participate in making their own creation to take home.
Active Indoor Kids Party Venues
Indoor Playground – An indoor playground is great for children of all ages. It allows children to run around, climb, jump and generally have a lot of fun. Indoor playgrounds have a lot of variety of play equipment and are generally great for kids up to around 12 years of age.
Rock-Climbing Wall – For the adventurous kids, they might like to try rock climbing. Rock climbing venues run programmes for new and experienced climbers so there will be something to suit all skill levels.
Ninja Warrior – If you are lucky enough to have a ninja warrior gym near you, then this is another great option. It’s an indoor playground on a completely new level.
Recreational Bowling – Bowling alley’s are a great place to take the kids. Lots of bowling alley’s also now have other activities too such as laser tag, bumper cars and arcade games.
Trampoline Park – If the kids love to bounce, then a trampoline park is an awesome idea. The kids can literally spend 1-2 hours jumping around and wearing off a whole heap of energy.
Inflatable World – Inflatable worlds are simply a lot of fun, and you can’t go wrong with this party location. It doesn’t matter what interests kids have, they always love jumping on bouncy castles.
Indoor Sports – Many recreational facilities run parties for various sporting activities. Check with your local recreation centre to see what is available.
Parties can be arranged for soccer, basketball, indoor cricket and more. Often the venues will run a combination of activities.
Ice Skating – Roller skating is probably best suited to the older kids, unless you know the kids are keen skaters. Ice skating is a lot of fun, with disco themes available too.
If you have a party host, check what level of support the host will be able to give the kids on the ice ring. If kids arn’t confident then you may need to pay for adults to join them!
Roller Skating – Roller skating is another fun activity that is great for all ages.
Swimming Centre – A swimming party is a lot of fun, but it’s a good idea to check the level of swimming needs prior to the party, to ensure that no-one feels overwhelmed with the water activities.
Indoor Go Karting – For those seeking an adrenaline rush, an indoor go-karting party would be the perfect thing for them.
Other Fun Party Venues
Aquarium – For those that don’t want to do an ‘activity’ as such, the aquarium is a fun option. It creates a fun outing, but doesn’t require any skill level of any kind to take part.
Either coordinate a group to take around yourself or join an organised tour inside the venue.
Museum – A museum is a great place to take a group of kids who love to learn and explore. There are so many things to see at a museum which will keep them occupied, and the best thing is that it’s free!
Plan a route ahead of schedule so you know where you will take them. Then head out for ice cream afterwards.
Virtual Reality – Whether the kids are new to virtual reality or it’s something they have done before, it is guaranteed to be a lot of fun.
Movies – The movies are always a winner when it comes to kids parties. Grab some popcorn for inside the movies and then take the kids out for dinner or ice cream after the movie so they can all chat about how awesome it was.
