A Hot Wheels birthday party is an increasingly popular party theme. The excitement of the race track brought right to the home would be a winner for all little budding Hot Wheels enthusiasts.
This adorable Hot Wheels birthday party was submitted by Jennifer of Pink Elephants and Lemonade. It’s vibrant and has fun written all over it!
Jennifer said about the party planning “My son Nolan is obsessed with cars, as most boys his age are! So when I began planning his third birthday party, his theme was immediately obvious to me; a Hotwheels party. Although Nolan likes anything with wheels, he has always been drawn to the little matchbox cars”.
Hot Wheels Birthday Party Decorations
The decorations for this party have been kept simple, but completely meet the requirements of the party theme.
Jennifer makes amazing party bunting coordinated to individual party themes, and this is a great way of setting the scene and for inspiring the creativity.
Jennifer kept to the base colours of black and white and used bright oranges and red to provide that wow factor. This worked perfectly and these colours together really provide the ‘punch’ for the table display.
I love the finishing touches of the VIP passes and the gasoline signs to complete off the race track feel.
Jennifer said “I began planning by searching for the perfect fabric to make coordinating fabric bunting. I ordered some online and had it shipped over to The Netherlands. I wanted to have a black background and try to keep things black or white with a little red and orange thrown in.“.
Hot Wheels Birthday Party Food
Birthday parties are a great time to splurge on some fun food. It doesn’t need to be fancy, but the kids certainly love to have some treats available.
Jennifer said “The table setup was perfect for the party guests, lots of candy and cookies and of course popcorn. I found cute mini orange traffic cones at the local toy store with added perfectly to the car décor. My girlfriend made the traffic light cupcakes as a gift to the birthday boy“.
Hot Wheels Birthday Party Activities
Entertaining kids at a party can often be a daunting task. Jennifer however had this all under control with a race track for the kids to play with.
This was an awesome activity which was wonderfully incorporated into the party theme.
Jennifer said “My husband made two race tracks for the kids to play with during the party. One we elevated one side and had car races. The kids loved this and it was such an easy job; a sheet of wood, painted black and white stripes painted last. I made pit crew passes for all of the guests. I had seen this on Pinterest and loved the idea. Nolan’s sisters handed them out the guests as they arrived“.
This theme is certainly one where so much fun can be had. Boys and girls alike love playing with cars, and the thrill of the race is setting the party up to be a real winner!
