One of the best things about Christmas is curling up inside by the fire having the heating cranked whilst sitting in awe at the beautiful Christmas tree lights and sipping on a delicious mug of hot chocolate.
Those are the memories that I have of Christmas as I was growing up. The reality for me is now somewhat different seeing as I celebrate Christmas in summer.
Last year it was 40 degrees, we had the air conditioning on maximum and it was still hot. It wasn’t the best weather for hot chocolate, but it’s really not Christmas without it.
I find that it’s best to drink the hot mug whilst sitting directly under the air conditioning vent! It’s the closest that I’m going to get to rugging up at Christmas.
The perfect accompaniment to a mug of hot chocolate are these delicious hot chocolate tea cup biscuits.
Marshmallow tea cups are always a winner in my house. Aside from chocolate, my daughter’s favorite candy is marshmallow.
She absolutely loves biscuits (like most 5 years old’s do), so mixing biscuits with some marshmallow AND chocolate, I really can’t go wrong.
I thought I would make these adorable tea cup biscuits to look like a mug of hot chocolate and they certainly did the trick. My daughter loved them, even the hubby was tucking into them.
What You Will Need To Make These Christmas Treats
Making these adorable biscuits is really incredibly simple. If you are looking for a quick and easy festive treat, then this one really is your “go to”.
All you will need is the following:
- Packed of Arnotts Tic Toc Biscuits
- Packed of Marshmallows
- Wilton 710-0992 Mini Candycane Cookie Icing DecorationMiniature Candy Cane Icing Decorations
- Mixed Choco Crispies
How To Make Hot Chocolate Tea Cup Biscuits
These biscuits are really simple to make and can be completed in just 6 easy steps.
Step 1: Grab your packet of Arnotts Tic Toc biscuits and place with the icing facing up.
Rather than using all the biscuits in the packet, I chose to use just the white ones. I just think the white makes them look that little bit more festive for Christmas, but you can use whatever colors you wish.
Step 2: Place a small drop of melted chocolate into the center of the biscuit for your marshmallow to sit on.
Step 3: Place your marshmallow on top of the melted chocolate.
Step 4: Use a small amount of chocolate to act as glue and stick on your mini candy cane onto the side of the marshmallow. This turns into the adorable little handle.
Step 5: Use some more of the melted chocolate and add to the top of the marshmallow. This acts as the hot chocolate in the mug.
Step 6: To finish off the look, sprinkle some choco crispies on the top to look like the marshmallows. I love how these also added an extra element of crunch too.
That’s it. The hot chocolate tea cup biscuits are now complete.
You can sit back, relax and enjoy a nice cup of hot chocolate with your tea cup biscuits.
