It is really feeling like spring around here because we have these pretty yellow wildflowers popping up all over the place. I love seeing flowers all around, who doesn’t!
Seeing the wild flowers inspired me to make these easy spring flower cupcakes. I have seen some flower cupcakes with the pretty piped flowers, but for some reason my piped flowers don’t turn out to be quite as pretty as the ones you see from the professionals on the internet.
Luckily these flower cupcakes are fail proof, which is just the way I like them!
If however you would like to know how to undertake some frosting styles with a petal tip, you may find this tutorial really helpful.
You don’t need to know any fancy piping techniques or need special decorating tips. You just frost the cupcakes with a knife, put on some candy and they are ready!
For the frosting you can use white like I did or green to look like grass. You can also use any colors depending on the candy you have or can find.
What You Will Need To Make Easy Flower Cupcakes
- White cupcake
- White or green frosting
- Pink or yellow candy melts
- M&Ms (I used the Easter mix) or jelly beans
Frost the cupcake with a knife.
Put a pink or yellow candy melt in the center of the cupcake, then place the M&Ms or jelly beans of the same color in a circle around the candy melt.
Make sure they are lined up close together. The Easter M&M pastel colors worked perfectly for spring flowers!
These are just so simple to make, you can even put the candy on store bought cupcakes for a quick last minute party dessert.
You can literally whip up these beautiful flower cupcakes in minutes.
So if the kids are wanting to try something new in the kitchen, these flower cupcakes would be the perfect treat to make with them. Each cupcake can look different, but each one would look beautiful.
With simple design, this is something that you can leave the kids to, whilst you sit down for 5 minutes with a cup of coffee. Sounds good doesn’t it!
