With the Christmas season well and truly upon us, the social calendar becomes busier and busier. Finding a space in the diary can become near on impossible.
It’s called the crazy season for a reason.
Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely LOVE attending social gatherings, but it can become kind of exhausting.
Between dinner dates, work Christmas functions and the kids events, it literally seems like your running from one place to another half the time.
It’s not surprising that we collapse in a heap once Boxing day hits.
The other tricky thing with being invited to dinner dates is what to take.
How often have you heard the phrase “don’t worry about bringing anything other than yourself”.
Maybe they do actually mean only bring yourself, or are they just being polite?
Consequently you find yourself at the front door feeling rather awkward as you enter a huge feast absolutely empty handed.
Does bring nothing actually mean bring nothing?
You will usually find that people bring a bottle of wine or some chocolate, because let’s face it, who doesn’t like wine and chocolate.
Give The Gift Of Wine
The one problem with taking wine however is that the host can become confused with whether the wine is a gift, or whether it is supposed to be drunk on the night.
Is it to open, or is it to leave until later?
It wouldn’t be such a huge problem, unless of course the host has carefully matched the wine to the meal and your wonderful bottle just completely upsets the apple cart.
Oh the dilemma!
There is one way to solve this problem.
Ensure that the bottle of wine looks like a gift. You can then enter the dinner party with something in hand, and there is no obligation on the host to open the bottle on the night, because it’s clearly displayed as a gift.
Problem solved!

4 Printable Christmas Wine Tags
Print off one of these wine bottle tags, add a ribbon of your choice and voila.
Each Christmas wine tag is sized 15 cm long and 7 cm wide.
To create the perfect looking bottle of wine all you need to do is print and cut out your desired tag. Punch a hole in the top of the tag and thread through a Christmas ribbon.
Tie the ribbon to the neck of the wine bottle and your done.
Life has just got a whole lot easier.
Tip: I like to print my Christmas wine tags onto either matte photo paper or onto bright white card stock. Stay away from copy paper if you can as the colors won’t be as bright and it’s not as sturdy.
