For today I made these delicious little mushroom pizza appetizers.
This super tasty mushroom pizza recipe is incredibly easy to make. They do however require a little time because the pizza dough needs to rise and the topping has to be made from scratch.
But they are totally worth it!
They are very delicious and I know that they are perfect for Christmas parties.
There are also endless possibilities with ingredients you can use, so if you do not like mushrooms you can certainly add ham or pepperoni.
Either way the little pizza appetizers will be great.
I am just a mushroom lover that is why I cook a lot of recipes with mushrooms.
I added cheddar cheese as the topping, I know the majority of pizzas have mozzarella cheese, but I wanted to get a different combination of flavors.
Christmas is almost here. And I love this special time of the year.
I can spend more time with my family and friends. Also, I can totally spend my whole days in the kitchen baking delicious cookies and cooking special dishes for Christmas Eve.
These little mushroom pizza appetizers will be perfect for upcoming holidays.
They are easily shaped into mini Christmas trees using a cookie cutter and then topped with mushrooms, red peppers and cheddar cheese.

Christmas Mushroom Pizza Appetizers
Mushroom pizza appetizers are perfect for Christmas.

Ingredients
The Dough
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 cup whole wheat flour
- 1 1/2 cups warm water
- 1 tsp. sugar
- 1 tsp. salt
- 2 1/4 tsp. instant dry yeast
- 2 Tbsp. oil
The Topping
- 1 Tbsp. butter
- 7 - 8 medium-sized mushrooms (shredded)
- half of the red pepper (diced)
- 3/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- salt/pepper
Extras
- 1 tsp. oil
- flour for dusting
- Christmas tree cookie cutter
Instructions
The Dough
- In a stand mixer combine flour, sugar, yeast and salt. Mix well.
- Add water and 2 Tbsp. oil and beat until the dough will become a ball.
- Take the dough and knead to form a ball.
- Oil the large bowl and put the dough, cover and leave it in warm place for 1 hour.
The Topping
- Melt butter in the pan, add shredded mushrooms and cook for about 15 - 20 minutes until all water will dissolve. Add a little salt and pepper.
Assembly
- Preheat oven to 375 F. Prepare baking pan with parchment paper.
- Dust your hands with flour, take out the dough and press gently to make flat circle. Cut Christmas trees with cookie cutter. Lay nicely on parchment paper. Leave it for 10 minutes.
- Put prepared mushrooms on each Christmas tree, top with diced red peppers and cheddar cheese.
- Bake for 15 - 20 minutes.
