Decadent chocolate brownies. They are something that everyone loves.

Brownies are perfect for any time of the day and are also an easy treat to make and take to someone else’s home.

Kids love them in their school lunch box, and they are awesome to indulge on at home.

Brownies are simply the perfect treat for all chocolate lovers.

How Do You Make Fudgy Brownies?

Let’s face it, it’s the question on everyone’s lips. How do you make that perfect chocolate and fudgy brownie.

Make sure you keep an eye on the baking time when making brownies as this will directly impact the consistency of the brownie. If brownies are not cooked for long enough they can be thick and stodgy, but if they are cooked for too long they become dry.

The lesson here is during the end of the baking time, don’t just walk off and leave your brownies. As soon as you start smelling the delicious aroma, check the brownies with a cake tester.

Check them even if the recipe says they have another 10minutes to cook!

If there is still lots of wet batter then the brownies need more time to cook. However if there are just a few moist crumbs them pull them out the oven. If the cake tester comes out clean then the brownies will not be fudgy.

If you want to make a fudgy brownie you might also like to pay attention to the recipe you are making. A fudgy brownie has more fat to flour ration in the recipe. So for instance, if the recipe has more butter and chocolate it is more likely to be a fudgy brownie than one that has more flour and baking powder.

Common Brownie Questions

Why Wont My Brownies Cook In The Middle?

A common problem when cooking brownies is that the edges cook before the middle.

If it looks like this is happening to your brownies, turn the oven down by another 25 degrees, and be sure to keep checking on them.

How Long Should Brownies Cool Before Cutting?

As tempting as it may be to want to cut and eat the brownies straight out the oven, try and resist!

Hot brownies will be hot and almost impossible to cut. It is recommended that you leave them to cool which may take up to 30 minutes.

Believe it or not there is a trick to cutting brownies which you might want to check out if you are aiming for beautiful clean cut brownies.

Should I Refrigerate Brownies?

Now that you have your beautiful batch of homemade brownies you might be wondering how to store them.

The chances are that the brownies will not really last long at all, but they will last perfectly fine for four or five days provided that you store them in an air tight container and keep them at room temperature.

Whilst refrigerating brownies won’t do them a lot of harm, there isn’t really any reason to refrigerate them.

Can I Freeze Brownies?

It is fine to place brownies in the freezer for up to 3 months.

Ensure that you have a layer of parchment paper underneath and over the top of the brownies to avoid freezer burn.

Do Brownies Taste Better The Next Day?

As hard as this is to believe, brownies actually DO taste better the next day!

That doesn’t meant to say that you shouldn’t eat the brownies the day you have made them. However if you can hold off for a day you will find that the flavors have had a chance to evenly distribute throughout the brownie and they will taste even more amazing!
