When planning the food and drinks for a birthday party, it is the birthday cake that is often the stand out feature.
If you are having a monkey themed party, then of course you are going to want to have a monkey cake to match. Think it will be difficult? Nah…not so much.
A little bit of cheeky imagination can go a long long way.
What cheeky little monkey wouldn’t have a huge grin on their face looking at this cake!!
The decoration is all completed with butter cream frosting and can easily be achieved.
How to make the butter cream decoration:
Spread a thin layer of of plain white icing onto the cake and use a skewer to draw the basic monkey face into the icing.
Use food colouring’s to colour the rest of the icing.
Pipe the coloured icing onto the cake following the template you have drawn, and smooth the icing with a knife.
Before you know it, you will have a specialty cake that all your friends will no doubt complement you on….and the kids will absolutely love!
The only problem with this cake will be not wanting to cut it!!
Ingredients you will need to make this Butter Cream Frosting:
♥ 125g (4oz) Butter
♥ 1 1/2cups Icing Sugar
♥ 2 Tbs Milk
How to make this Butter Cream Frosting:
1. Beat butter in an electric mixer until it is as white as possible.
2. Gradually add in the sifted icing sugar and a tablespoon of milk. Beat constantly.
3. Add the remaining milk if necessary.

Truly, the cake makes the party. Another thing I would want to ask, is there anyway one could make the top base of the cake very smooth? like the base below the monkey face. I would like to know what material could be used to achieve that.
