October is upon us, which means Halloween will be here before we know it. Having grown up in the UK, and now living in Australia, I have never really celebrated Halloween, as it has never really been a ‘big thing’.
I do however love to see all the parties on the internet, and some of those parties look like a whole lot of fun. This Halloween party is no exception.
This Halloween party submitted by Jennifer from Pink Elephants and Lemonade is full of spooky fun. I love all the home made decorations to give this party a real spooky feel.
The party activities are very creative and perfect to keep the little ones entertained.
Jennifer said about the party planning “My daughter was starting in a new school and was apprehensive about meeting all of the new students. To be honest I was also worried about meeting all of the parents and making positive connections, so I came up with a brilliant idea (read INSANE idea), to invite all 25 classmates, siblings and parents to a Halloween party at our house.
I am Canadian, married to a Dutch fellow living in The Netherlands. Halloween is not a holiday here, but I LOVE Halloween; the candy, the costumes and the creepy decorations!
I decorate the house every year, so I figured I might as well have a PARTY!
I sent out e-mail invitations, which was easier for a large group, although this pained me as I love to design and make cards. It was however the easier way to go for this particular party and made it easier for people to RSVP“.
Halloween Party Decoration
Decorating for a party is always the fun part, but sometimes it can be hard knowing where to narrow it down.
You can certainly be spoilt for choice with bats, spiders, witches, pumpkins, just to name a few. Jennifer certainly did a great job with creating a spooky atmosphere in her home!
Jennifer said “My kids and I designed the spiders by using Styrofoam balls and pipe cleaners which we sprayed black. The kids had a lot of fun doing this and we were really pleased with how they turned out. I made all the buntings myself, which can be purchased from my Etsy store“.
Halloween Party Food
The food is the highlight of most parties and when there is a cake involved, it certainly has center stage on the dessert table.
The cake for this Halloween party was no exception and provided a wonderful spooky Halloween scene. I love all the grizzly treats used at this party, and those fingers. Eeek!
Jennifer said “The food was the absolute highlight of this party. My girlfriend, prepared the party food, cupcakes and cake and everything looked and tasted amazing!”
Halloween Party Activities
The great thing about having kids at parties is all the fun filled activities that you can then hold.
I love the spooky ghost silhouette used as a bean bag toss, this would have been a lot of fun. It is also a great idea to use activities as party favors where ever possible and a pumpkin decorating activity was the perfect idea for this.
Jennifer said ” My husband designed and painting a Ghost Bean Bag Toss, which the kids loved. Halloween is a sugar induced coma holiday, so naturally the prizes were candy bars! The kids also decorated mini pumpkins which they took home with them as party favors“.
What was your favorite part of this party? Do you think the kids would love the spooky games or maybe they would like to eat those fingers with green nails!
