Looking for a party that is filled to the brim with fun, colour and amazing food? This Frida Kahlo inspired Mexican theme party was submitted by Tania of Tania Fischer Design. Tania teamed up with her friend Roni from Roni Sugar Creations to create this absolutely stunning party.
Mexican Theme Party Decoration
I absolutely love the vibrancy of the decoration in this Mexican theme party.
It really does scream “Fiesta” doesn’t it! The attention to detail is outstanding, and Tania did an amazing job of the handcrafted flower backdrop which is simply stunning.
Tania said “Roni had painted Frida, and she gave it to me to see what I could do to incorporate her into the party decoration.
I found this amazing frame on a flee market, but I didn’t want to cover the flower backdrop, so I used a clear acrylic mat to set off the picture. I incorporated cages around the picture with hand blown hearts, which is another traditional craft from Mexico.
We set the table up in a traditional family style, using succulents instead of flowers, which were seated on gold pots and tomato sauce cans. We also used traditional Mexican china, clear glass china and a clear sticker with a different art of Frida.
To accentuate the chairs we used Mexican Rebozos.”
Mexican Theme Party Food
The selection of food the girls prepared and organised was outstanding and was a sure Mexican feast.
With a selection of mouth water sweet and savoury delights, this party was a feast of the senses.
Mexican Theme Party Favors
The party favors and a photo booth finished this Mexican theme party off perfectly.
Not only did they look amazing and enhance the wonderful decoration, but they added another fun element for the guests.
Tania said “As a fun touch we had a “little mercado” with different items you will find in a Mexican Market. It included bags that had either a tin heart, a scapulary or a rag doll for decoration.
Next to el mercado we had a photo booth, with a huge poster of Frida Kahlo and our props were Frida’s hairpieces with braids and flowers, uni-eyebrow, Diego’s glasses and a typical mustache. Of course we also had to use some glitter!”.
