Today’s gorgeous Christmas rice krispie treats are courtesy of our contributor Val from Val Events Gal. They are wrapped up as adorable little presents, and both adults and kids are sure to love them, especially with the surprise inside!I love this time of year with all of the occasions to get together with family and friends. December is filled with Christmas and holiday parties and I usually bring some type of dessert to the parties.
In the past I have made Christmas cupcakes, cake pops and cookies. This year I am trying out some quick rice krispie treats.
Christmas Rice Krispie treats are such an easy dessert to make and bring to any party. You can make these while baking some cookies at the same time. They are also really fun for kids to help make.
I made these easy Christmas present rice krispie treats wrapped up with Twizzlers pull n peel. They also have surprise candy inside and I love desserts with surprises inside.
You can make one giant rice krispie treat with a bunch of candy inside then cut off little pieces for guests. I made a bigger one and a few little ones.
What you need to make your Christmas Rice Krispie Treats:
Rice Krispies Treats (I made the recipe on the box of Rice Krispies)
For the small ones I cut out three 1-2 inch square pieces. You can put some butter on a knife so it doesn’t stick or wipe it off in between each piece you cut.
Stack the first two then press down on the second one in the middle to create a small hole.
Fill the hole with a few candies. I used Christmas color Sixlets, but Christmas color M & Ms would work great too. Then cover it up with the third piece pressing them firmly together.
Wrap it with Twizzlers pull n peel. I used two pulled pieces and wrapped them from one side to the other, then cut off any extra.
Finally, wrap a piece from the top side around the top to the bottom side and again cut off any extra.
To make a bow with the Twizzlers loop a piece behind and then make another loop in front. Press it together with your finger or the side of butter knife to make it stay.
You can wrap another small piece around the middle. You can also use frosting or melted chocolate as kind of a glue to keep it together if they aren’t staying.
To make a large present divide the pan of rice krispies treats into 3 pieces. For the middle piece cut out a large section in the center just leaving the edges.
You can use the cut out section to make little presents.
Put the piece with the cut out on top of one piece and fill it with candy. Cover it with the third piece pressing it firmly together. Then wrap it with Twizzlers!
If you don’t have the Twizzlers you could also draw on ribbon and bows with frosting. You don’t have to do the candy inside but I think that makes it seem even more like a present!
Aren’t they so cute?! You can serve them at any holiday party or wrap little ones in bags to hand out to friends! I also like to unwrap it like a Christmas present when I am eating it.
