Need some inspiration for your daughter’s birthday?

How about planning a kids slumber party?

Slumber (or sleepover parties) are growing in popularity and they are the perfect way to celebrate a special event.

If you want to create the ultimate slumber party, then you have come to the right place. The following ideas will ensure you have everything to hand to coordinate the special occassion.

How Many Kids Should Be At A Slumber Party?

A sleepover party is NOT the kind of party where you invite every child in your class.

This is the type of party where you only invite your child’s closest friends. 4-6 children is an ideal number.

Remember that you have to ensure there is enough room for everyone to sleep, so that will also dictate the number of children you invite.

When Is The Best Time To Host A Slumber Party?

Kids slumber parties are best held on a Friday or Saturday night.

It is highly likely that the kids will be awake for a lot longer than they are normally, so having on a weekend night means that they can rest up the following day.

The time in which you start your slumber party is entirely up to you, and may ultimately be decided upon what time you plan on putting the kids to bed.

For younger children who will be going to bed around 8pm, you may wish to start early to mid afternoon.

For tweens and teens who will likely go to sleep after you have gone to bed, starting mid to late afternoon might be the sweet spot.

Some slumber parties finish first thing in the morning at 9am, whilst others will allow for a lazy breakfast and finish around 11am.

The times will be decided upon the age group of the kids attending, your family situation and how long you ultimately want you house to be taken over!

How Do You Set Up A Slumber Party?

The sleeping arrangements are one of the most important things to consider at your slumber party.

You will need to think about where you will set up the sleepover, which will also dictate how many children you can have attend.

The lounge room is often a good option, especially if your child’s bedroom is small. You can move furniture to give a lot of functional space and room for the kids to spread and relax.

Once you have decided the location, you will need to think about the bedding.

It is a good idea to designate sleeping spots before the children arrive. This helps to alleviate any arguments or disappointment about where everyone is sleeping.

There are a number of ways you can set up the sleeping areas including:

• Provide several air mattresses with cushions, blankets and pillows. Ask the kids to bring their own sleeping bags to make life simple. You could also ask the kids to bring their own pillow if they prefer.
• Set up a tepee or sleepover tents over a mattress for something a little extra special.
• Provide low picnic tables next to individual beds for bottles of water and night time accessories.
• Provide glow sticks for some added fun when the lights go out.

If it’s in your budget then there are a number of companies that provide a complete set up for a kids slumber party.

Otherwise if DIY is your preferred option then gather some blow up mattresses, colorful sheets, some comfy cushions and you are all set.

Don’t forget to hang some fairy lights for the perfect ambiance.

A really cute idea is to give all the kids matching pyjamas and blankets. These can also double up as their take home party favors.

The kids would look adorable together, and would help everyone feel settled in their brand new beautiful pyjamas. It would make for some gorgeous photos too!

Likewise all the kids could be given a fluffy eye mask and depending on their age, even a cute new teddy bear.

Kids also love to take lasting memories in front of a photo booth.

To do this, simply set up a party backdrop of balloon garland as the designated photo area.

You don’t need to supply a lot of props, as Pyjama’s, eye masks, teddy bears etc does all the work for you. This is also a really fun way of capturing the memories from the night.

What Do You Do At A Sleepover Party For Kids?

Whilst the kids are attending for a “slumber party”, they certainly won’t be retreating to bed straight away.

You will therefore need to be organised with some activities prior to bed time.

Some options include:

• Cupcake making
• Pizza making (which would double up as dinner)
• Movie marathon with a choice of all your kids favorite movies
• Have a dance party
• Play some fun games. There are many board games that would keep the kids entertained and is easy to coordinate.
• Set up a pamper station. The kids can do their hair, face masks and nail polish.

What Food To Have At A Sleepover

You will want to ensure that you have thought about the food prior to the kids coming, as you can guarantee they will be hungry!

Good options for feeding several children easily are:

• Chicken nuggets and chips (nuggets could be cooked in the oven and chips purchased from the chip shiop).
• Pizza, take out or home made.
• Hot dogs
• Nacho’s
• Spaghetti Bolognese

It is also a good idea to coordinate a snack table with sweet and savory nibbles.

Here you can stick to classic party food, including chips, popcorn, cupcakes, candy etc. Don’t forget to also include a fruit platter!

Then there is breakfast to consider for the next day. The morning could consist of a variety of breakfast cereals, toast with numerous toppings, pancakes and fruit.

Supply a variation of food to cover all tastes and be sure to ask parents if there are any dietary requirements that need to be considered.

How To Prepare The Kids For Bed

A slumber party is exciting, but that doesn’t mean the kids are going to be keen to head to bed in a hurry!

You can expect a lot of excitement and chatter in the room, so having a designated bedtime before the party starts is a good idea.

Let the kids know ahead of time what time bedtime will be so that they know how long they have.

Leading up to bedtime, ensure that the kids have all brushed their teeth, gone to the toilet and undertake the same nigh time ritual they would have at home.

Ensure you have some new toothbrushes and toothpaste on hand in case any of the kids have forgotten to pack theirs.

After all the excitement, a relaxed atmosphere needs to be created. This can be undertaken with some calming music, turning the lights off and leaving just fairy lights twinkling.

Don’t expect there to be quite when the lights do go out. Chit chat is bound to happen for at least an hour after lights out, as this the added fun of a slumber party.

Ensure that the kids know you are available if they need, and make sure you check on them before heading to bed yourself.

What Happens The Morning After A Slumber Party?

The morning after the slumber party you are likely to have a bunch of excited and tired kids!

Ensure that you have pre-arranged a pick up time with parents just as you would with any other party you hold.

It’s a good idea to get the kids to gather their belongings together before you offer them breakfast. It is likely that things will have been moved everywhere the night before and you don’t want kids frantically looking for their things when parents arrive.

Once belongings have all been gathered and the sleeping area looks respectable, the kids can be offered breakfast. See the tips above for some great breakfast options.

Remind the kids what time they are being picked up and ensure that they are dressed, with all items packed at least 15 minutes prior to pick up.

Then the kids can sit and chill to music or play another board game until parents arrive.

Coordinating a successful sleepover is simple if you start it prepared. Taking a bit of time to think about how you would like the kids slumber party to be will ensure a magical experience for all the sleepover guests.

This tropical party is easy to recreate with simple tutorials for party decorations and fun themed food. This is a party your daughter will love inviting her closest friends to.

It’s pretty hard not to have a smile on your face when you host a tropical party. And the great thing about this party theme is that it is suitable for SO many times of parties.

You could easily hold one for a kids party, an adults party or even a baby shower or bridal shower.

All the party needs it a few tweaks to make it suitable for the occasion.

This party was held for my daughter’s 8th birthday.

She was at the age of wanting something more “grown up”, but still fun and very child friendly.

We brought a tropical island to our backyard because let’s face it, everyone is relaxed and happy with a tropical vibe.

It was “pretty” but a lot of fun, just as she requested.

Tropical Party Decorations

The decorations that are chosen are always so important for creating a themed party.

More good news here is that a tropical party is SO incredibly easy to decorate for.

Think about using bright colors across the birthday party space.

Lots of pops of color really bring the entire area to life.

There are so many tropical party supplies available both in store and online that it’s hard to know where to stop.

Easy tropical party decorations include:

• Tropical flowers
• Grass skirt around tables (and to wear)
• Inflatable palm trees
• Pink Flamingos
• Flower Leis
• Lanterns, shells, coconuts and pineapples
• Tiki torches (if hosting an adult party)
• String lights look beautiful if holding the party outdoors in the evening

Behind the food table, I always hang up a party backdrop.

I find that having a backdrop is a great way to highlight which colors you will be focusing on throughout the party decor. It also provides a focal point at the party.

Whilst there are many beautiful tropical backdrops that can be purchased, I find creating one with plastic tablecloths is a much cheaper alternative and it always looks amazing.

The best part is that this DIY party backdrop can be designed for every single party that you hold. It instantly has a different feel to it purely by the colors chosen.

So once you know how to make this backdrop, you can use the same formula over and over again.

This tropical backdrop was made up with pale pink, gold and white, which remained the main colors throughout the party decor. The addition to this was the green tropical leaves.

Rather than use fresh flowers, I used a lot of artificial flowers throughout the party decor.

I used a selection of hibiscus flowers and pink and white lily’s mixed with tropical palm leaves.

These flowers were perfect table decor that were beautiful but not over the top.

They worked really well to provide the pop of color that was needed to turn the area into an island paradise.

A feature piece on the food table was a flamingo light, which helped to provide additional color and interest.

I also used some hanging flamingo decorations, which helped create pops of color around the party area.

Part of my party decor always incorporates a set of printables, and the tropical party printables set was used for water bottles, food labels and candy bars.

This is another way to instantly create a themed vibe with little effort.

Tropical Party Food

It’s always a lot of fun to add themed food to a party and there was a lot of delicious treat food at this party.

Tropical Cupcakes:

Aside from the birthday cake, I always like to include vanilla and chocolate cupcakes.

I created these stunning tropical leaf cupcakes by adding a fondant leaf covered in gold glitter to the top of the cupcake.

Tropical Cookies:

Cookies are always another popular choice at kids parties. These tropical flower cookies not only looked beautiful but they tasted amazing.

Other tropical party food included:

• Cinnamon donuts turned into pineapples
• Marshmallow pops
• Fresh fruit which was added to a wooden skewer with a flamingo on the top
• Cheese squares onto bite sized square crackers with a tropical palm leaf pick on the top
• Red and green jello
• Bright colored candy

And then of course there is the cake. It wouldn’t be a party without the birthday cake!

We purchased a very simple cake design, then decorated with some of the complementing tropical flowers and simply placed a flamingo on the top.

It was easy and it looked beautiful.

If you would prefer to make your own birthday cake, then you will love my easy tutorial for a flamingo birthday cake that has a free printable cake topper.

We also set up a cocktail bar consisting of two different cocktails. These drinks were of course mocktails, but it was still fun to call it a cocktail bar.

Each drink was served with fun tropical umbrellas, and a drink stirrer which was a fun way of adding an extra pop of color to the drinks.

The kids were so excited to choose a drink from the menu and have it specially made for them.

Tropical Party Activities And Games

Having a selection of activities and games at a party ensures that the party runs smoothly and everyone has a great time.

There are also a lot of kids party games that can be tweaked slightly to fit any party theme. These are popular games that kids will enjoy playing.

One of the activities that we set up was a photo booth. This was simply created with a gold door curtain as the backdrop and tropical themed props were made available for the kids to use.

It was great to look back on the photos after the party to see how much fun the kids had together.

Rather than hand out a party favor bag at the end of the party, I like to incorporate this into a game. Each of the kids are handed a favor bag and as a group are taken on a treasure trail.

At each stop the kids are handed an item to place into their party bag.

When the kids were younger I used to create a map of pictures for them to follow but as they have got older we have found that a quiz works really well.

The kids have to answer a question and then given a word to find that has been placed somewhere at the party. We always have super excited kids whilst undertaking this activity.

The bright, vibrant and fresh colors used throughout this tropical party created an exciting birthday space for our daughter and her friends. It was easy to coordinate and a lot of fun to put together.

Do you now feel ready to host your own tropical party? I hope you have been able to take some inspiration from some of our tropical party ideas!

Everyone loves a bit of pampering every now and then. A pamper party is a great idea for your little girl who is looking to celebrate her birthday.

A pamper party theme is such a fun way for her to feel a little bit extra special with all of her friends.

Yes you could coordinate a party host to run the event, but a spa party theme is easier to coordinate than you might think.

Use these kids pamper party ideas to throw the ultimate party for your little princess at home!

What Is A Kids Pamper Party?

A pamper party is simply another party theme for girls. This is a great party theme for girls who want to do something a little more “grown up”.

A pamper party will incorporate several popular spa treatments like foot spa’s and face masks, whilst also adding some extra girly fun like nail painting and hair braiding.

A kids pamper party is the ideal opportunity to spend some relaxing time with friends whilst being treated and made to feel extra special.

This is a fantastic party for a girls night, an afternoon of fun or even to turn into a sleepover party.

However you choose to coordinate the pamper party, one thing is certain. The girls are all going to have an amazing time!

Who To Invite To The Pamper Party

The group size of the pamper party will affect how the party will function. If the group is too large it will be difficult to accommodate all the children at the same time.

With a group of 4-6 children it is easy to have them all undertake the same pamper activity at the same time.

For 7-15 children you might want to consider having “stations” where the children move from one activity to another.

The group size will largely depend on the space you have available to set up the party and whether your daughter wants to be undertaking the activities with her friends all at the same time or not.

Planning For The Pamper Party

Just like any party you hold, you want to make sure that you are prepared. This will ensure that the pamper party runs smoothly and everyone has a great time.

A little bit of preparation will go a long way. This is especially important when you have larger groups to manage.

There are a few simple things to be coordinated.

1. Have EVRYTHING set up before the party starts. You want the girls to walk into the party and see their spa day set up for them. This will increase their excitement, and they can enjoy walking around checking everything out whilst waiting for everyone to arrive.
2. Decide whether you will be dividing the girls into groups (for larger parties) or whether all the girls will be moving through each station together.
3. Have a plan for which station to start with and how you will be moving through them. Make this plan for each number of groups that you will be moving through. Allow approximately 10-15 minutes at each station.
4. Ensure that you have organised enough adult helpers to be present at each station. This is especially important if you have multiple stations on the go at once.
5. Coordinate when you will stop the activities for food and birthday cake.
6. Allow time at the end of the pamper party for the girls to relax, do their own thing and chat.

What Beauty Treatments You Need For A Kids Pamper Party

There are lots of pamper party treatments that can be included which are all pretty easy to set up.

Foot Spas:

One of the best and easiest pamper party ideas is to include foot spas.

Foot spas can be set up for each of the girls, with their own fluffy towel.

You could choose to use real foot spas or simply have several plastic bowls filled with warm water and bubbles or flowers that the girls can relax their feet in. They will enjoy sitting back and chatting with each other.

If you are choosing the “rotating” system with moving the girls through the stations, ensure that the bowls are freshly filled with new water and towels before each group starts.

Manicure Station:

Setting up a manicure station is super easy and is something that the girls will have a great time with.

Set up the station with multiple colors of nail polish for the girls to choose from. They will enjoy deciding whether to paint all their fingers (and toes) the same color or mixing it up and using multiple colors.

It would be a good idea to have someone sitting at this manicure station to help the girls with the nail polish if they wanted it.

Give the girls the option to have their nails gently filed and massaged before being polished.

Have some nail stickers and glitter available for the girls to use too.

Face Masks:

Face masks are a fun experience for a pamper party.

It is easy to buy face masks in bulk, or you might like to choose to make your own face masks especially for kids.

Make Up:

The kids will love experimenting with a bit of make up, such as powder, eye shadow, blush, lipstick and face glitter.

Let the kids have fun applying their own make up, or assist them to do so.

Ensure that you have several brushes and mirrors available for the kids to use.

Face Painting:

Face painting will appeal to younger girls. You don’t need to hire a face painter to undertake this either.

Have a few simple designs that the kids can choose from. Also have some body glitter handy to create a bit of extra sparkle.

Temporary And Glitter Tattoos:

Kids love tattoos so this is an easy thing to include at the party.

Create a table displaying the tattoos on offer and then have an adult assist the kids to apply them.

Allow for a bit of mess as the glitter can have a tendency to go everywhere!

Hair Braiding:

This is a great time for the girls to explore a new hairstyle.

Undertaking hair braiding is one option, or girls could choose to have lots of colorful hair accessories in their hair or glitter spray.

This is meant to be a fun time for the girls, so give them some options and let them choose what they would like.

Food Ideas For A Pamper Party

The food you serve at a pamper party can be much the same as food you would serve at any other kids birthday party.

Think finger food and simple! Some great suggestions include:

• Fairy Wands
• Pretzel Flowers
• Cake Pops
• Marshmallow Pops
• Chocolate Popcorn
• Cupcakes
• Fairy Bread

Think about what your child and friends like to eat and cater around that.

With a huge selection of kids party food options to choose from, it will be easy to choose something that everyone can enjoy.

Just remember to keep things simple and arrange foods that don’t require any additional preparation during the party. You will be far too busy at the pampering stations to stop and organise food.

It’s better to prepare the food ahead of time, set it up then let the kids enjoy it in their own time.

Pamper Party Decoration

It is a good idea to keep the party decoration simple and relaxing to keep with the vibe. You might decide to choose pastel colors for a relaxed feel.

Choose 3-4 colors and use them throughout the party decor.

The food table can be placed in front of a party backdrop with colors you have chosen for the party.

Then decorate with a nice tablecloth, simple balloons and matching colored tableware.

Pamper Party Bags

At the end of the party, it is a nice idea to give each of the girls party favor bags to take home.

There are a number of fun things that could be included in this gift bag such as:

• Bath bombs
• Hair bands
• Temporary tattoos
• Lip gloss
• Eye mask

A spa pamper party is one of those party themes that the kids will absolutely love.

It will provide a special memory for your child with their friends and will really create a special day for them all.

Simply use the kids pamper party ideas above to create the perfect party.

A pink party is a classic party theme for girls. It can be used in so many different party settings and in birthday party themes.

A color party is also a great idea if you don’t want to choose a particular party “theme”.

It’s also an easy option for someone who isn’t confident in being able to style a themed party.

But a color party doesn’t have to be boring. In fact it is the complete opposite.

The good news is that these are easy ideas which can be incorporated by anyone, regardless of your party skills. The end result will also look fantastic and perfectly styled.

The Best Party Themes For A Pink Party

Pink party ideas can be used for a lot of different themes.

For instance, these ideas would be perfect to use at a first birthday, a little girls party, a sweet 16 or even a bridal or baby shower.

A pink theme party is so incredibly versatile and that’s also what makes it so very awesome!

Pink Party Ideas For Little Girls

Use these pink party ideas to create the ultimate party for your little girl.

In fact, incorporating the pink theme is super easy into many sweet little girly girl parties.

Ballerina Birthday Party:

A ballerina birthday party is a popular theme for the little girls that love their dance.

It is also incredibly easy to use these pink party ideas when styling for a ballerina party.

Pink Princess Party:

Most little girls will end up having a Princess birthday party at some stage.

A great way to decorate for this party is to use the color pink, with a touch of sparkle of course!

Flamingo Birthday Party:

The different shades of pink look gorgeous in a flamingo birthday party.

Pink Party Ideas For Adults

Baby Shower:

For mums to be that are happy for people to know they are having a girl, the favorite color to decorate with is pink.

The soft pinks and whites are perfect for this party.

Bridal Shower:

A mix of hot pink and baby pink would work perfect for bridal shower decoration.

Be sure to team the pink with gold or silver to really jazz it up.

Hot pink and gold together really elevate a pink party from one for a little girl to one for an adult.

Just some subtle differences really changes the overall vibe.

Breast Cancer Awareness:

Many people hold pink parties to raise money for breast cancer awareness.

This is a great opportunity to have a lot of fun with friends or family members, whilst also raising money for a good cause.

How To Ensure Pink Decor Looks Amazing

To prepare for a pink party you will need to undertake a bit of decorating.

And yes you guess it. There will be lots of pink!

The trick to decorating for a pink party is to decorate with different shades of pink over the entire party area. This will allow the colors to really pop and will define the pink even more.

For instance mixing baby pink and hot pink together will make much more of an impact than just sticking to the one color.

Likewise, it is very easy to incorporate some other colors into the pink and this wont distract at all that it is still a pink party.

There are a variety of colors that complement pink, such as:

• White – This is perfect for breaking up the color subtly without introducing anything new.
• Silver – Silver works well with both hot and baby pink. It’s still a subtle color.
• Gold – Gold accents brings some punch to the pink colors. It stands out as a color on its own, but still complements the pink perfectly.
• Pastel Yellow – For a pink party that might incorporate flowers, pastel yellow is a beautiful color to include. It adds an air of relaxation to the decor.
• Black – Whilst you may initially think that black would distract from the pink colors, it complements it if used sparingly. Black is also a great color to tie all the shades of pink together.

Mixing these different colors into the pink will really lift the feel of the pink party theme.

Don’t try and mix all these colors together though.

You would want to stick to just adding an extra one or two, not all of them together.

For instance:

• Pink, gold, white
• Pink, silver, white
• Pink, black, silver

If you want to keep pink as the primary color, you will need to ensure that this color features more than the rest.

And it is still a good idea to use various shades of pink to really emphasise the pink.

Use Decorative Patterns:

Another great way to use the color pink is to use decorative patterns in the decor.

For example choosing items that have polka dots or stripes will add another element of interest.

It is easy to add this type of design in the napkins, straws, plates etc.

Once you have decided which colors you wish to use, there are many party supplies available to achieve the finished look.

You can find the items in party stores, but it is also work checking out dollar stores because a lot of fun items can be found there which is a lot more budget friendly.

Party Balloons:

A quick and easy way to decorate for any party is to use pink balloons. And the great thing is that balloons come in all shapes and sizes and cater for every type of party theme.

Balloons can either be blown up and arranged on a balloon weight, or for a stunning focal effect a balloon garland can be created.

As mentioned previously, the different shades of pink will work perfectly here. Rather than having a block of color, the different shades complement each other and create a truly stunning effect.

Confetti balloons are also fun to use at a pink party.

They can either be purchased or you can try your hand at making your own with clear balloons and pink confetti pieces.

Party Backdrop:

A party backdrop is another area that you can really make an impact with the decoration.

A backdrop can be created with a balloon garland or a pink balloon arch.

A backdrop can also be created with tissue paper streamers, or simply using plastic pink tablecloths.

The backdrop can be placed behind a food table or can also be used as a photo backdrop.

Pink Tableware:

It is incredibly easy to find pink tableware in all different shades of pink.

Items to look out for are:

• Pink tablecloth
• Pink napkins
• Pink cups
• Pink plates
• Pink straws.

Try using several shades of pink in these different items.

Tip: Use pink wrapping paper as a tablecloth. You will be able to find a lot more variety of patterns and colors by doing this.

Pink Paper Lanterns:

Another simple party decor to use is pink paper lanterns.

They can be hung up all around the party space and look especially beautiful in a garden setting.

Pink Party Food And Drink Ideas

A great way to incorporate the pink theme into the party is with the food!

It’s actually really simple to do and often you just create your normal party food with a few slight tweaks.

Creating a dessert table is incredibly easy using pink, and you can easily make the following:

• Pink marshmallow pops
• Cookies with pink icing
• Cupcakes with pink frosting and presented in pink cases
• Cake pops
• Pink cotton candy
• Offer an ice cream bar with strawberry ice cream and sprinkles
• Fruit such as strawberries, raspberries, water melon and grapes

And then of course there is always the option of setting up a candy bar.

Use several apothecary jars (plastic if being used for children) and fill them with different types and shades of pink and white candy.

Candy such as pink musk sticks, lollipops, rock candy, bubble gum and pearl sixlets would work perfectly for this.

It goes without saying that you would have to offer some pink lemonade at a pink party.

Pink Party Favors

For little girls birthday parties you will need to think about providing some party favors. It is easy to add some pops of pink here too.

Some pink party favor ideas include:

• Pink nail polish
• Pink hair bands or hair clips
• Pink candy
• Pink lip balm
• Pink balloons
• Pink bubbles

There are lots of little trinkets that you can put together to create an ultra pink party bag.

What To Wear To A Pink Party

To stick with the true pink theme of the party, why not simply wear pink!

For adults celebrating baby showers or bridal parties, it is easy to integrate pops of pink in the dress. This can be done by simply adding a pink feather boa, a pink cowboy hat or scarfs.

Younger girls will enjoy wearing pretty pink dresses and hair accessories.

Even men can wear a pastel pink shirt which would look perfect teamed with some casual jeans.

Whether you decide to go all out with dressing in pink, or just add a few details, it is another fun way to add pops of color throughout.

So much fun can be had with this party color.

Whether you are using the pink party ideas to plan a fun girls night, baby shower or birthday party for the little girls, a pink party is definitely going to be a huge success.

Pink parties are simply the best!

Or is it imaginary?

Do fairies really exist?

Wouldn’t it be wonderful if they did. Little tiny fairies buzzing around our garden, making little homes in the trees and sprinkling magic fairy dust around. Oh, it sounds blissful.

No wonder fairy parties are so popular with the little girls. It’s an imaginary world that is simply delightful. Fairies are pretty, fun and sometimes even a little bit cheeky.

Are you one of those people that always has to have cupcakes at a party? I certainly am!

I love the birthday cake, but I really do like tucking into a cupcake or two. There’s the kid coming out in me!

If you don’t really have the time or the inclination to decorate and theme a cupcake, there is a really easy solution It’s called cupcake toppers!

All you need to do is have some simple butter cream icing on the top of the cupcake and then add your topper. You then have an instant themed cupcake with half the stress.

To use, simply print, cut and add them to cake pop sticks, attaching with a little sticky tape.

Don’t restrict yourself to using them just on cupcakes. You can spread them out all over the food table. They provide instant and super easy party decoration.

A printable set simply wouldn’t be complete without it containing food labels. They are kind of an essential when it comes to party decor.

I simply love them. Not really sure what to use them for? Here are some ideas.

1. Use them to help create some fun food names. For example one label could say “Fairy dust popcorn” for chocolate popcorn. Or “Forrest Berries” for a fruit basket of strawberries etc. How about “Fairy pillows” for mini marshmallows. What ideas can you think of?
2. They are fantastic to use if you need to label any dietary requirements. Simply write on if something is gluten or dairy free, so that parents are aware what they are giving the kids, so everyone walks away happy.

This is a rock star party that you won’t want to miss. Dig out that guitar and start feeling the beat!

This rock star party for my daughter’s 7th birthday party, was the first party that really hit me that my daughter was growing up!

She didn’t want pretty, or anything Disney themed. It had to be rock and it had to be funky.

She had great delight in choosing exactly how she wanted her party to look. It was to be black, hot pink with just a hint of sparkle.

There was not a party dress or character costume. She wanted rock funk with colored clip in hair extensions and fish net gloves.

This was it. It was the moment I realized my little girl was no longer such a little girl. She is growing up, defining her personality and showing her confidence.

Seeing her ‘groove’ her way through the party with her friends was an absolute delight. The kids looked amazing and it was a party that both her girl and boy friends thoroughly enjoyed.

Rock Star Party Decorations

The first thing I ever decide on with the party decor is choosing the colors. Once you have this in place, everything else naturally comes together.

My daughter had already decided that she would love pink and black, so that made it really simple.

My “go to” party backdrop was once again used and it worked a treat. I love it for so many reasons.

1. It’s so easy to change up the backdrop to suit different themes, simply by swapping the colors up.
2. This backdrop is CHEAP! It’s made from plastic tablecloths, so it can be created by literally anyone.
3. It’s quick and easy to put together (perfect when you have 101 other things to prepare).
4. It always receives compliments from guests about how great it looks.

So why do I use this backdrop over and over again?

Well you know the saying “if it ain’t broken, don’t fix it”. This is so true when it comes to this party backdrop.

The design of the food table compliments the backdrop. A black plastic tablecloth and black table skirt covered the table.

A large star was placed in the middle of the backdrop to provide the ‘sparkle’ that my daughter had requested. Several small stars were also scattered over the food table. These were all made out of metallic silver card.

I then added some star lights and of course disco balls.

Every party I decorate a paper mache number, which I simply painted with silver glittery paint and added some pink ribbon and a small silver star.

It all came together perfectly to create the backdrop for a jaw dropping rock star party.

The rock star party printable set completes the party styling.

I use water bottle labels, candy bar wrappers, food tent labels and cupcake toppers. The printable’s are an easy and effective way of putting the finishing touches of the theme together.

Rock Star Party Food

I love preparing party food. I’m certainly not a baker, in fact I stay out of the kitchen as much as I can, but party food is a completely different story.

Everything I create however has to be simple to make. If it’s complicated, it simply doesn’t happen.

Sure, an idea might get pinned on Pinterest, but that’s where it will stay. If the food can’t be prepared with a toddler around my feet then it simply doesn’t happen.

So rest assured, you can make all of these items too!

There are certain food items that I always have at parties. Firstly because I love eating them and secondly because they are easy to make into a theme. These items are cupcakes and marshmallow pops.

For the cupcakes I created simple rockstar cupcakes. They did a great job of standing out on the food table, and everyone loves a cupcake whilst waiting to eat the birthday cake.

Or is that just me?

The marshmallow pops were turned into microphone marshmallow pops and the kids absolutely loved them.

Chocolate popcorn is always another party favorite so with a little twist I turned this into rock star popcorn.

This was as simple as making normal chocolate popcorn but adding pink and black smarties to it.

Easy!

I also prepared fairy bread (because a party is never a party in Australia without some fairy bread).

Other sweet treats included star cookies, harmonica’s and drum sticks.

Together it was the perfect dessert table full of themed rock star party food. The kids literally went nuts over it.

Rock Star Birthday Party Cake

To complete the dessert table was the rock star party cake.

This was once again made by Sweet Nes Cakes and it looked incredible. My daughter’s face when she saw it literally popped out her head and you can totally understand why.

Having a professional cake made for my kids parties is something I like to indulge in.

Sure, I could make my own, but it wouldn’t look as amazing as this. I go cheap on the decoration, so that I can splash out on the cake. Plus, it gives me those happy cake feels.

Rock Star Party Photo Booth & Activities

One of the things that my daughter requested was a photo booth.

The photo booth was created using plastic tablecloths as the backdrop and a silver door curtain overhanging the front.

We then set up an i-pad so the kids could take their own photos. It was an absolute hit. Between games and eating there was always one or two kids having a play in the photo booth.

Props were added beside the photo booth for the kids to have fun with.

We also set up a tattoo and sticker table. We totally under-estimated how popular this would be and next time we would need to double the amount of tattoo’s available. The kids couldn’t get enough of it!

Another tradition at my kids parties is to have a treasure trail around the garden. This incorporates the kids going to six points in the garden where they pick up an item to place in their favor bag.

It’s a great way to combine giving favors and undertaking a party activity all at the same time. The kids really look forward to the trail and it becomes a bit of a highlight of the party for them.

When my daughter was younger I used to give her a map with pictures to find in the garden, but now she is older the trail has turned into a quizz.

I gave the kids 6 questions (music related) and they had to find the answer somewhere in the garden. Once again it was a hit.

To ensure you are fully prepared, make sure you check out these 22 totally awesome fun party games for tweens. There are plenty of ideas to keep everyone entertained.

If you have a budding little rock star in the house, then they are going to adore this rock star party. It’s a high energy, fun theme that all kids can enjoy.

Grab the inflatable guitars, slap on some glasses and get ready to rock the house down. This will be a party that everyone will remember.
