This week has been one of those weeks where my emotions have been all over the place.
In just one day I received devastating news that a close friend has cancer, and that very afternoon I received news that I had won a competition with an amazing prize.
It made me think about life…life is here for enjoying (for as long as we are privileged to do so) and we should make the most and celebrate every opportunity provided to us.
So much like planning parties to give us something enjoyable to look forward to and celebrate, we should celebrate life.
So what was this prize?
A month ago I took a weeks holiday to the snow region in Victoria Australia. My daughter was not yet one, but already a thrill seeker and loved being pulled along in a sleigh. Doesn’t she look so cute in her over-sized beanie, snowsuit and boots!!!

My Dad took this photo, saw a competition and asked me to enter it via Facebook….which I ended up doing on my daughter’s birthday.
I received a call this week to say that we had won 5 nights accommodation, ski lessons, lift passes, ski hire and spending money for 4 people for the 2013 season! WOW.
I couldn’t believe it, I never win anything…although I can’t say that anymore! I did look like a crazy idiot jumping around the room!
My party planning checklist will come in useful even for planning this trip, except we won’t have to worry about the budget this time….yipee.
So, whilst this isn’t really a post about party planning, it is about celebrating life and that is the reason why we have parties!
I will certainly be celebrating this trip and will get my teeth into all the preparation planning involved.
Have you ever won a prize that has made you want to jump up and down for joy?
Please share your story, I would love to hear it.
