Melted snowman cookies are incredibly easy to make, taste delicious and perfect Christmas treats to make with the kids. Create quirky snowmen characters.I remember the first time that I decided to do some Christmas baking with my daughter. I had visions of us singing along to Christmas carols, laughing and joking in the kitchen and ending up with some gorgeous looking Christmas treats…..just like you see in the movies.
The reality was however somewhat different.
The baking went….everywhere, her attention span didn’t last long enough to see the baking come out the oven and the cheer? Well, that fell flat on it’s face too. The reality didn’t quite meet up to my expectations.
What I have realized is that with young children, it is best to just skip the baking part completely and get straight into the decorating! These melted snowman cookies are perfect for that!
- Reindeer cookies are also a whole heap of fun to make with the kids, and they are super cute to take to Christmas parties.
- Little kids love these hot chocolate tea cup biscuits. They are easy to make and taste delicious too.
Only a few ingredients are required and they take no time at all to make, which is perfect for little kids.
The even better part is that you don’t have to worry about meeting those high expectations you have set after watching the movies, because they don’t need to look neat to still look good.
Besides, what melted snowman do you know of who looks his best?
You may have seen these melted snowman cookies floating around Pinterest, I know I have seen them a lot, so I had to give them a try.
Of course my version is very simplistic and easy to make, but if you are a bit more adventurous and want to decorate with more style then you might want to check out the creators version at The Decorated Cookie.
However, if you prefer the more simplistic version which requires buying a packet of biscuits…he he….then here it is.
Oh…and you can stop that guilt feeling of not baking the cookies right now.
There is absolutely NO shame in it what so ever. Will the kids care? Absolutely not!
How To Make Melted Snowman Cookies in 4 Easy Steps
1: Open a packet of plain biscuits (any type will do. You are going to cover them with chocolate so just choose something you enjoy).
2: Melt white chocolate and spread it all over your cookies.
3: Add a white marshmallow for the head and press gently into the chocolate.
4: Using an edible fudge pen, draw on the face, arms and a scarf.
That’s it….you are done!
Have a play around with different facial expressions of your snowmen and see which you like the best.
The kids will not only enjoy eating these melted snowman cookies, but they will also have a lot of fun creating them.
I’m sure if you served these up at a Christmas party, they would not last long on the table.
They are cute, creative and take no time at all to make, so I think you would be onto a winner.
So now you can get that Christmas music cranking, and the laughing and joking with the kids in the kitchen can become a reality…..just like in the movies! What type of Christmas cookies do you like making with the kids? Have melted snowmen cookies ever been on the list for you?
