Marvelous Monday Link Party #82

Marvelous Monday Linky Party

Welcome to Marvelous Monday!

We are now into December which means it is officially Christmas.  We put up our Christmas tree on the weekend, and we have a family tradition of going into the hills, choosing a Christmas tree and cutting it down.  This is from a Christmas tree farm of course, we don’t just randomly chop down trees!

I love the smell of the fresh pine in the house, and it really makes it feel that Christmas has arrived.  All that’s needed now is the smell of freshly baked mince pies, and then the Christmas feeling will be complete.

What traditions do you do with your family each Christmas?

In case you missed it last week, this is what we were up to on the blog.

    Great features, congratulations to all!!
Our traditions consist of meeting with family and/or friends on the 31st and eat 12 grapes at 12:00pm, while the twelve strikes of the bells mark the end of one year and the beginning of a next one.

Oh that sounds like such a lovely tradition Pili. Do you have to eat them quickly before the 12 strikes, or can you take your time and enjoy them??

      • Pili December 10, 2015 at 8:44 pm #

We start eating at 12 o’clock and have 3 seconds to eat each one! So the kids and some adults (me included) finish with our mouth full of grapes trying to say Happy New Year!! Lol. The tradition come from some centuries ago when there was an excedent of grapes and they thought it would be a solution to have all the country eating grapes.

I don’t think I could do Christmas without a real tree Kirsten. Although it was 40 degrees on the weekend so it was the quickest tree pick we have ever done!!
