Carousel Birthday Party

1st birthday parties are incredibly special occasions.  It is the birthday that not only celebrates the child’s first year, but also celebraes that the parents made it through the year!  This carousel birthday party submitted by Natasha for her daughter’s 1st birthday party, has that special edge all over it.  It is also a perfect example of how following a party planning checklist ensures that you have all details covered with a stunning result at the end.  I love the beautiful design of the carousel horse and its incorporation into the decorations, cake and even the food.  This party is nothing short of stunning.  If you are ready for a fix of pure pretty and feminine party ideas, then you have come to the right place.

Natasha said about the party planning: “I decided upon a carousel theme as I wanted to do something a little bit different and unique. I also wanted a particular colour scheme of pink, white and yellow.  Once I found the invite, it just all tied in together.  I based all my decorations around the invite.  My sister and I made the carousel horses by cutting out cardboard and then decorating.  I also made some tissue paper pom poms.  We held the party under a gazebo in a local park and wrapped ribbon around the posts to make them look like carousel poles.   The party favours, chocolate wrappers and birthday banner were all based around the invite and the colour scheme.  Likewise the majority of the dessert table was pink, white and yellow to fit in with the colour scheme.

Party Invitations

The invitations set the scene for what the party is about, and this invitation immediately captures the attention.  It’s fresh and delightful design are the perfect combination for a 1st birthday party.

Party Decorations

The carousel birthday party decorations were incredibly effective displayed over the gazebo.  The pink, yellow and white colours were present amongst all the decorations and flowed effortlessly with the carousel theme.  The decorations consisted of carousel horses, tissue paper pom poms, balloons, 1st birthday party banners and pink, yellow and white ribbons.

If you would like to know how to make one of these effective tissue paper pom poms for your next party, you can follow the tutorial here.

Party Food & Drink

The dessert table was absolutely stunning with its selection of mouth watering treats, displayed in pinks, yellow’s and white’s.  The carousel birthday cake was a replica of the invitation and stood out as an amazing feature on the table.  Other delightful treats included chocolate and vanilla cupcakes, rocky road, mini tarts and specially designed number 1 cookies.  Even chocolate bars were wrapped with party printables to match the invitation theme.

Party Favours

Most children’s parties now provide a party favour for young guests to take home. The favours at this 1st birthday party consisted of snack treats and were beautifully presented with personalised tags to match the party theme.

Natasha used a few suppliers for this 1st birthday party and their contact details are included below.  Please contact them directly to discuss any specific needs you may have.
